Fantastic start to the Eve Hawes Eventing Clinic. Day one and day two off to a great start. With the forecast bad weather not reaching the island everyone settled in to some fantastic new learning with their horses and achieving personal goals. The jump arena is in great shape and we are all looking forward to moving onto the Cross Country course tomorrow. Thanks Eve and all the riders out there today. Day 3 of Eve Hawes Eventing Clinic and the rough weather did not dampen our spirits or surpress our appetite to be better Eventers for ourselves and for our horses. With our Ferrari’s tucked up at home under cover it was our turn as the pilots to learn about correct jumping phases, correct course lines and the psychological aspects of facing our own fears and tackling that seemingly insurmountable obstacle. Eves years of extensive personal experience, training and professional approach made everything seem possible. Those corners will now be nailed by The Rainmaker 😁 Thank you Eve from Nelson Riding Club and all the team from this clinic. I for one can’t wait for the next one!
Twilight jumping event in December, had a turn out of 9 riders. This is an event that we have a series every season. It is open to all, and here show were the winners for this month.
February's event we had a total of 18 rider combinations, with 43 rounds. Was a great night and every one had fun.... Our Annual show cross event held yearly, this year a bit later than normal in October. 29 entries, was a great day out. Lassie day this year was in June, wow and didn't Nelson turn on the weather. A chilli start but clear blue skys for a lovely winters day. We had 8 riders out on this cold day, had a laugh and some fun, with Paulette Stannard taking out the Lassie Trophie with the best time and score.
Lassie Day is a fun event for members to try different obstacles with their horses. Take a look at the photos to see what is involved. Great Rally Day today- heaps of members pottering around trying all the obstacles, jumping and Hoofball. Thank to Jasmin, Julia and Liga for organising such a cool rally day, A very interesting tour around a professional stud, featuring the three resident stallions: Gym Bello, Quartermaster and Damien. Sue was very informative and we all learned about the whole AI process. Huge thanks Sue for your time today, it was a pleasure to be shown around. |
